Writer's Block

It is perfectly normal for those who write to go through writer's block. For me, I guess my muse went on holiday and didn't bother telling me about it. It's been a while since I've written something that's from the heart. Contrary to popular belief, writing is not that simple a process. Your heart and mind has to be in sync and at peace in order for something worthwhile to materialize in the form of written words. I was taking a drive by the sea the other day with a friend when it got me to think, perhaps if my muse went away, I should look around me and find my inspiration in other things. Like the sea, or the mountains. I used to get really inspired whenever I walked on the beach, or simply gazed out at the seemingly endless tea plantations up in Cameron Highlands. Guess I should give them a try again. Maybe one of these days, I'll just pack my notepad and pen, and take a drive to a beach somewhere. I used to churn out poetry like water out of a tap. But it's been almost a year since I've written anything remotely close to being called poetic. Oh well, c'est la vie. Isn't that what we say when there seems to be nothing else to say about life?
